Description

Box file containing items of ephemera in acid free sleeves. Includes a leaflet advertising an early lifebelt (1820s?), a set of 40 cigarette cards issued in 1931 by the British American Tobacco Company Ltd. on the theme of safety first. These are tips on avoiding accidents illustrated in colour and cover: electrocution, first aid, stings and cuts, fire prevention, smoking, hygiene, taking care to avoid cutting yourself when using knives, food safety, trip hazards, keeping dangerous substances safe, train and railway safety, swimming and lifesaving, domestic accident prevention, child safety.
