Notes

"Hello! Thanks for picking up my Hard Femme zine. I wanted to make this because I've been thinking lots lately about what it means to be femme. Femme identity is something I've always had a weird relationship with. I've always ID'ed as a femme, but haven't always felt like I fit in femme spaces, because at the same time I'm scruffy, not well kept and not as versed in femme practises as others I know. I started reading about hard femme identity on Tumblr and it clicked with me. I've always admired unruly, strong women who are in charge of their femininity and sexuality, and suddenly I realised that mostly they could all be seen as a hard femme. This zine explores what I think hard femme is, how my experience and history has led me to identify as one and some personal reflections about being feminine outside of social norms. I hope you enjoy it."--Page [1]
