Offered to Ld. Napier of Magdala in recollection of Sept: 1876. New Palace Potsdam by Victoria Crown Princess of Germany and Prussia, Princess Royal of Gt. Britain & Ireland Print catalogued bears manuscript inscription from the Crown Princess Victoria to Lord Napier of Magdala. After leaving his post as Commander in Chief in India in April 1876, Napier "was present at the German manoeuvres in 1876 as the guest of the crown prince and was entertained by the emperor William" (Oxford dictionary of national biography)
