Biographical note
In the lower margin of f. 1r is an inscription 'Ad Venerando fratre Anselmo Bailaluccae dalla Regigola del sacro ordine di Santo Agustino 1616'.
Narducci states that MS. 'sembra scritto nel principio del secolo XV'. But the watermark - a cardinal's hat - appears to be Briquet 3370, assigned to Venice 1469.

Ownership note
From the Library of Prince Baldassare Boncompagni (1821-1894). The Boncompagni manuscripts were catalogued by Enrico Narducci (Catalogo di manoscritti ora posseduti da D. Baldassarre Boncompagni), whose catalogue was published in two editions, 1862 and 1896, which differed in both content and numbering scheme. Accepted practice is therefore to cite both numbers, giving the 1896 number first followed by the earlier number in parentheses. This item is therefore known as Boncompagni 284 (331). Pasted on the spine is a printed label 'Boncompagni 284'.
