Braunschweigischen gewesnen mathematici und geometrae, welcher allhier Wolfenbüttel in wahrer Bekantnus und Anruffung Godtes den 11 Novembris Abends zwischen zwey und drey Uhr durch den zeitlichen Tod von dieser Welt abgefordert seines Alters LXIII Jahr. Below the portrait is a 46-line poem in German printed in two columns, signed with initials M.F.H.B. (unidentified), containing an obituary of the late sitter, transcribed by Mortzfeld, loc. cit.
