Description

Among the words are many vignettes. Top, the all-seeing eye of God. Below "Our", cherubim carry the cross and anchor, representing the theological virtues faith and hope respectively. The letters of the word "Father" include the lion and the unicorn, putti, angels, and the globe marked with the locations of London, Bristol and Liverpool. In "which art in Heaven", heaven is illuminated by a sunburst and adorned with stars. Above "Name", the Tetragrammaton is shown twice, with calligraphic cherubs blowing the trumpets of fame; "hallowed be" is accompanied by a bell and a harp. "Give us this day our daily" has vignettes of food production (transporting food by water, farmers sowing and reaping, bee-hive, milking cow), and "bread" contains cereal and fruit crops. "Lead us not into temptation" includes the temptation of Christ. In the spaces are calligraphic cherubs praying
