First paragraph begins: 1878 - "Silas Mainville Burroughs…commenced business at 92 and 93 Great Russell Street, London, WC, under the title S. M. Burroughs & Co. in two small rooms on the first floor. The staff consisted of Mr B. and an office boy, who after being there a few days ran off with the contents of the cash box - £20 - went to the Derby and lost all he had stolen"
