Letters are dated 1 December 1796, 10 January 1797, 17 January 1797, 13 February 1797, 21 April 1799 and 8 December 1811 Various matters are covered: appointing of George Jepson as Medical Superintendent in 1797, illness among Retreat staff and patients in 1796, improvement in mind of some patients, 1796, Retreat staff and need of more of them, 1796-9, finances particularly William Maud's financial help, William Tuke's ailments 1811 and his treatment by Dr Belcombe. Also family and other matters, eg non payment of fines
