About this work

Description

El mal del pinto. [Followed by:] Terapéutico especial. Mexico Signed dedication to Gen. Carlos Pacheco, Ministro de Fomento, (whose support the author had received), p. 5. Téllez, a medical officer in the Mexican army, published his findings on pinta (mal del pinto, pinto) after 8 years of officially-sponsored research in the State of Guerrero. The first part constitutes a copy of his only known published work [Palau 329747]; the second part constitutes his MS additions to it, relating particularly to treatment and prophylaxis. He recognises the syphilitic nature of pinta and advocates treatment with a compound including mercury, iron, arsenic, antimony and bismuth.
