A small collection of French surgeons' accounts, typically itemising visits made and medicines supplied to patients, with appropriate fees, but with one appeal to the marshals of France from Guillaume Dubernard, 'maitre chirurgien', for their help in recovering an historic debt owed to Dubernard by the army officer, Piffon de Martouret, 22 February 1772 (no. 9).

No. 8 includes specimen printed labels for two proprietary medicines noted in the account (for the household of the marquis de Boulainvilliers, 1768-71), 'Kirschenwasser de la Forêt Noire' and 'Eau de Noyaux'.
