![C.I. AC 44132 CRO 28 COUNTY BOROUGH OF CROYDON ANNUAL REPORT OF THE MEDICAL OFFICER OF HEALTH AND SCHOOL MEDICAL OFFICER For the Year 1926. I beg to submit to the Council my report on the health and sanitarv circumstances of the Borough during the year 1926. Seeing that, in accordance with the request of the Ministry of Health, a special review was made last year of the various aspects of Public Health work in the Borough, I have given a somewhat more limited survey in the following pages. The year has been one chiefly of consolidation of the extensions of work planned and put into effect by the Committee during immediately preceding years. It may be said in general that in retrospect the year can be regarded as a satisfactory one from the point of view of such consolidation. The new Clinic premises and Sick Nursery in Lodge Road, which came into use at the beginning of the year, have proved to be a ver\' real success, and their arrangements have added greatly to the possibility of orderly extension of the work in these directions. The extension of Cheam Sanatorium and the utilisation of the additional 35 beds provided there for tuberculous patients became effective late in the spring of the year, and the staffing, adminis tration and domestic arrangements connected with the occupation of the additional beds were carried through smoothly and with no embarrassment to patients already under treatment. The genera] health of the Borough during the year was satis factory, and there are happilv no notable outbreaks of illness to record. H. P. NEWSHOLME.
