Description

Within an oval papier mâché frame, 38 prints and drawings are inset, in three concentric circles around a central engraving of Jesus Christ. Centre, Christ as Man of Sorrows, coloured engraving, sight ca. 13.8 x 10.7 cm. Second row moving outwards: emblems of the Passion, twelve watercolours, oval, sight ca. 3.9. x 3.4 cm. Third row moving outwards: instruments of the Passion, ten watercolours, oval, sight ca. 6 x 5 cm. Outer circle: Stations of the Cross: fourteen stipple engravings, with in addition a title engraving Passio Domini nostri Jesu Christi at the top and the Virgin of Sorrow at the bottom, sight ca. 6.5 x 4.7 cm.
