About this work
Description
Britain could be facing an outbreak of measles, whooping cough and rubella because millions of children are not being immunised against them. Experts are particularly concerned about the increasing numbers of children becoming infected with measles. We meet parents whose children haven't been vaccinated and who have caught measles and been very unwell. The programme attempts to work out why it is that so many parents are resistant to the vaccine - many are still concerned that the MMR vaccine might be linked to autism. The tragic story of a five month old baby, Eliza-Mae, who died from whooping cough is given by the parents. We also follow the work of a vaccination nurse who is attempting to visit children who have missed their immunisations.
