Pneumonia complications: lung abscess

This is a plain chest x-ray of a young girl with an aspiration pneumonia. The girl also had with a neurodevelopmental disability. There is a lung abscess (arrow) which has developed secondary to aspiration. There is also extensive consolidation around the abscess and some adjacent signs of pleural effusion.
