About this work

Description

The enumeration of mental functions is divided into two: Feelings and Faculties. These are in turn each subdivided, the former into Propensities and Sentiments, the latter into Knowing and Reflecting. This is a reproduction of George Combe's system, with two deviations: 1. in Combe the 'perceptive' faculties occupy the place of 'knowing' and 2. 'benevolence' is also attributed to animals
