About this work

Description

A large-scale high-resolution montage of the entire retinal surface. Comprised of approximately 400 images seamlessly stitched together. Here, a transgenic mouse that expresses GFP in retinal astrocytes was used to annotate individual cell locations (not possible otherwise) and then computationally segmented based on random-walk probability. Each astrocyte was then assigned a hue from which we can then extract quantitative bio-image informatics. Blood vessels are seen here in grey.
