Description
Nadya Suleman, a single 35-year-old woman in the US, gave birth the the world's first surviving octuplets in January 2009. The octuplets were conceived by in vitro fertilisation. However, Suleman already had 6 children from previous IVF treatments. Because of her status, relying on welfare to fund her costs - $1000 a week for food, 700 nappies a week plus the costs of hired help, she has become reviled in the US press. Her IVF consultant, Michael M Kamrava, was struck off for allowing Suleman to continue receiving treatment despite how many children she already had. He is also alleged to have implanted her with 6 embryos rather than the maximum 2 allowed by US law. This documentary follows her daily life 9 months after the octuplets were born. It is chaotic, especially as the older 6 children try to come to terms with having 8 new babies in the house, and Suleman's relationship with her mother is volatile. We see her battle to control the family finances in court and
