The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "[A member of] ‘The Temple Belles’ Concert party in France, World War I. Cannot find which unit this troupe was attached to, but ‘Gertie’ was obviously one of it’s stars, from her professional looking drag and demeanour, and the way in which this souvenir sepia tinted real photo has been signed and inscribed."
