Horace says: 'Ne soyez point en peine, où je vais vous mener, / C'est un logement sûr que je vous fais donner. / Vous loger avec moi, ce serait tout détruire, / Entrez dans cette porte, et laissez-vous conduire.' [stage direction] 'Arnolphe lui prend la main sans qu'elle le connaisse.'
