About this work

Description

Television reporters Michael Buerk and Jon Snow, "Guardian" reporter, Victoria Brittain; and Oxfam Press Officer, Tricia Spanner examine the presentation of Ethiopia in news programmes as a totally famine-stricken country. But famine is not the whole and continual condition of Ethiopia and expatriate Ethiopians are embarrassed by the portrayal of their country as a beggar nation. The programme examines the reasons for this selective view and asks whether the ends justify the means.
