Group 1. For growth and renewal. The body-building or protein foods give us the materials to grow with, and are specially important for children. Everyone needs some of them every day to make good 'wear and tear'. These foods, from animals, contain the best kind of proteins, but proteins can also be obtained from vegetables, such as peas, beans and nuts. One pint daily for children, ½ pint daily for adults. Two or more helpings daily from amongst these for children and adults.
