Description

Galton's notes for his "Inquiry into the degree of correctness with which the relative merits of Indian Civil Servants in their manhood was foreshadowed in their youth by their place in the class lists".

These consist of notes taken from The Selection and Training of Candidates for the Indian Civil Service (Great Britain: the India Office; 1876), the comparison of data from Charles Prinsep's research with that published in Alfred Cotterell Tupp, The Competitive Civil Service of India: 1856-1882 (Bombay; 1882), plus Galton's calculations, tables and lists of candidates.
