A change of heart.

This film, made at Papworth Hospital, Cambridgeshire, follows two heart transplant patients through periods of pre-operative anticipation to the post-operative death of one and the repeated disappointments of the other. Dr. John Wallwork, Director of the Papworth Transplant Unit, discusses the possibility of overcoming the shortage of transplant organs by breeding transgenic pigs to provide hearts for transplant to humans.
