An angel with his hand on his heart speaks to Mary, who has her hand on her belly. She is carrying James, Jesus's brother and future apostle. Mary is a large lady with a double chin and round, flat hat. Jesus, now a child, holds onto her thumb. Two youthful angels crouch next to him, offering him a bowl of fruit, but he seems to be repelling their advances.
