Lettering
The death of Joseph. In the cabinet at Houghton. Size of the picture 3f. 3i. by 4f. 10i. in length. Velasco pinxit. Michel sculpsit.
Creator/production credits
When at Houghton the painting was attributed to "Velasco", presumably meaning Diego Velásquez (Velázquez) rather than Luis de Velasco of Toledo (ca. 1550-1606). At the Hermitage It is currently attributed to Alonso Cano
