About this work

Description

Cerebral malaria: histopathology This is a medium power view of a section of white matter from the brain of a patient with cerebral malaria. It shows an ischaemic lesion (pale zone) around a small vessel with some microglial cells; this is an early Dürck granuloma. The vessel is congested but does not contain parasites, as the patient has been treated. H&E stain.
