Description

The Corrie Bill was introduced in the House of Commons in 1979 by John Corrie (Conservative M.P. for Bute and N. Ayr) to restrict abortion rights that had been granted under the 1967 Abortion Act. The Bill was withdrawn in March 1980, before its Third Reading, after demonstrations and lobbying by specialist pressure groups, the Trades Union Congress (TUC), and others
