About this work

Description

NAC refused to give evidence to the Select Committee in 1976 (see SA/NAC/B/1) as the majority of the MPs on the committee were men and were opposed to abortion. In January 1977 the Abortion Rights Tribunal took place at the Central Hall in Westminster, and it was instigated by NAC but the group also worked closely with ALRA and Co-ord during the event. Evidence was gathered from abortion services and groups from around the country to be presented and discussed at the Tribunal.
