Description

Photograph of the earliest known portrait of Joseph Priestley (1733-1804), an English chemist. The Leeds portrait is dated circa 1763 and the artist is unknown. The original's location is unknown and this photographic copy was found by Mr W Cameron Walker in the Libray of the Royal Society.
