About this work
Description
The last in a 6-part series about psychoanalysis which features case studies of patients and their therapists. This part focuses on therapeutic communities and begins with a brief history of how such communities came about after the 2nd World War. Analysts participating in the programme include: Malcolm Pines, Tom Main, Jock Sutherland, Tessa Allen and Margaret Williamson. We visit Ingrebourne Centre and see how such a community works. People who have worked in the older psychiatric hospital environments describe the changes in their working conditions over the years and patients praise therapeutic communities and group therapy.
