About this work

Description

Chenopodium bonus-henricus (Goosefoot or Good King Henry) Bed of plants with long spear shaped green leaves and tall green spikes of tiny flower heads. Used as a vegetable, particularly in macrobiotic diets, has high iron content. Has been used as treatment for anaemia. The leaves have also been used to treat boils and abscesses. The seeds have a gentle laxative effect.
