Immunohistochemistry has been used to identify various structures including: cell nuclei stained with DAPI (blue); F-actin, a fibrous muscle protein, stained with A488 phalloidin (green); microtubules - an important component of the cell's cytoskeleton - labeled with an antibody against tubulin (red); and mucous secretions, highlighted with rhodamine labeled with DBA lectin (orange).
