About this work

Description

Pamphlet asking for donations to support the work of the British Home for Incurables, which was founded 20th July, 1861 on Clapham Rise in south west London. The administrative offices were at 73 Cheapside in the city of London. There is a very detailed engraving of the home on page 6, an illustrated advertisement (drawn by A.F. Forestier) for Mrs. Clarke's History of the home on page 5 (showing a young woman caring for an old woman lying in bed). The home moved to new premises in Streatham in 1894.
