Weisheng hebi is a compendium of 'nourishing life' (yang sheng) literature. It draws on more than 20 texts, ancient and modern, some of which are reproduced in their entirety, and includes explanations and notes on obscure passages.
Method for 'Agitating the Tongue and Gargling in the Throat': Flap the tongue to left and right and up towards the palate 36 times. When the mouth is full of saliva, clear the throat 3 times, as though there were something caught in it.
