Description
Recurrent 'aphthous' ulceration of oral mucosa and genitals--possibly with recurrent iritis (and hypopyon) (so-called 'Behcet's syndrome'). Sometimes thrombophlebitis. 'Ectodermose erosive plurioficielle' of Fiessinger. Ulcus acutum vulvae (Lipschitz)--or aphthous ulcers (without B. crassus)--with erythema nodosum. Planner and Remenovksi (1922) described co-existing skin and eye affections. Case of Mrs Berrington (Behcet's syndrome). Also some cases of ordinary recurrent oral ulcers (for comparison). Involvement of the nervous system in Behcet's Dis (Lancet Aug 1957)
