About this work

Description

Sketchbook created by Audrey Amiss, containing pastel and pencil sketches in monochrome and colour, most are annotated. Some sketches are applied with heavy pressure, and the paper has been significantly worn away, possibly by force or rubbing. This appears to be a compositional decision. Subjects mostly include scenes around central London, particularly St. Paul's, as well as some views from Audrey's bedroom window. Some loose pages.

The date has been estimated during cataloguing and is based on the contents of the volume.
