Description

Photograph of two acorns charms. The oak was regrded as the home of the Thunder God and the acorn as its fruit, was thus associated with thunder and lightning. Therefore acorns (real and copied) could guard against lightning. The items were previously part of the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum but are not held by Wellcome Collection.
