But I proceed to confider the (late of the Controverfy between Dr. Freind and Dr. le Clerc 5 nor will I infill on the in¬ judicious Criticifm of the former, about the Propriety of the Title, An Effay of a Flan i nor on the ill placed Animadver- fion on le Clerc’s bellowing fo much of his Flan on Faraceljus. The Criticifm alto¬ gether proceeds from Dr. Freind, and his jDefender, not underltanding the Senfe of the word Effay, and their miftaking the modeft way Dr. le Clerc is always defended.
