About this work

Description

Bernatz shows vividly three very large and savage-looking crocodiles. Described by Kirk, op. cit., pp. 228-229: "Water was only procurable from the Killele wadi, distant 1 mile; in which, during the rainy seasea [season], crocodiles are said to be found", suggesting that the crocodiles could be imagined by Bernatz rather than observed
