Description

Notes by Galton on observation, tracings of profiles and tables of profile measurements. Also a letter from F Howard Collins dated 7 April 1910 enclosing a photograph of his face in profile. The letter discusses the use of profiles in recognising criminals, and the possibilities of using photographs of a person's head in profile as well as a portrait view of their face in police work.
