HMM exhibits and interiors

The majority of these photographs depict the interior arrangement of the HMM, and specific exhibition cases or objects. Together, they give a good indication of the evolution of the HMM displays and of the interpretations and use of specific areas of the collection. Further photographs of the HMM premises in the WRI building showing room design and exhibition layout, are in the large albums at WA/PHO/Wri/1-2. These include views of the HMM workrooms, with sorting areas for objects during classification. Some of the photographs were used in the handbooks and guides [see WA/HMM/PB], but many are unpublished.
