Niels, in the kindness of his heart, had not forgotten the minister. He had brought him from the fair a small present of tea, which he had procured from the Russian merchants. This tea is said to be peculiarly fine in fla- vour, for it is brought over-land from China, and consequently not injured, as tea is said to be always, more or less, by a sea-voyage: and we are told, moreover, that some of it is packed in the flowers and leaves of the fra- grant olive. Though, most probably, Niels
