Description

An educational film for medical students, discovered and restored as part of a project entitled "Life and Death in Leningrad during, and as a consequence of, the seige 1941-44", funded by The Wellcome Trust. The film shows all the types of neuropsychiatric and neuromuscular disorders caused by prolonged malnutrition and vitamin deficiencies. The film shows victims of the seige of Leningrad being examined by medical staff in a Russian hospital. Notes from the film, containing medical details, translated by Larissa Tikhomirova, DPSI, Institute of Linguistics, London, are held at MFAC.
