Letters by Garnet Joseph Wolseley (1833-1913), Field Marshal, 1st Viscount Wolseley. Recipients include Mr. Spain or Dixon-Spain, probably the Rev. Thomas Dixon-Spain of Long Sutton, Lincolnshire (nos.2 and 12) (3 letters to unnamed recipients, nos.4-6, which deal with temperance issues such as a conference on "Native Races and the Liquor Traffic" (no.5), may also be to Dixon-Spain), and "Kingscote", probably the agriculturalist Sir Robert Nigel Fitzhardinge Kingscote (1830-1908).
