About this work

Description

Ink and brush drawing from a handwritten copy of the anonymous text Dingchuang yaojue (Essential Art of Boils), executed in 1874 (13th year of the Tongzhi reign period of the Qing dynasty). Shouzhang ding occurs on the palm of the hand). It is treated with needling and opening (tiaoci) at the upper edge of the kneecap. Yanbao shang-xia ding occurs on the upper and lower eyelid. It is treated with needling and opening in the inner elbow, the first section of the spinal vertebrae and the tip of the big toe. Jibei ding occurs on the spine. It is is treated with needling and opening at the top part of the coccyx.
