    no where elfe; he was exceedingly ema- ciated and weak, with but little appetite, and his pulfe weak and quick.—September 26th, he was direded to take two grains of the Digitalis, with two o£ ginger every night, which was continued for fix nights without any increafe of urine, or diminu- tion of the fwelling -, he was then direded to take two grains of calomel every night inftead of the Digitalis: from the 2d of Odober to the 28th feveral other remedies were prefcribed to no purpofe ; I then de- termined to give the Digitalis another trial, and he accordingly began on the night of the 28th to take it as formerly, together with a folution of cream of tartar, to which fome {svtQtfpirit of nitre was added. After purfuing this courfe for five days, no alteration in the fymptoms could be obferved, but as no bad fymptoms had arifen.
