About this work

Description

Enchiridion botanicum. There are many added medical receipts and prescriptions by contemporary and later hands, in Latin, and the book seems to have belonged to a physician, or more probably, to an apothecary. On the first leaf is inscribed 'Edward Bradgate liber ejus ex dono Dr. Horne 1683'. Bradgate's name and the date 1694 has been cut into the outside of the lower cover. The latest date among the additions is 1712 (fol. 176v.). On fol. 227 is a note 'Finis [16]74'.
