About this work

Description

Section through a freshly detached retina showing the beginnings of retinal scarring. The glial cell processes are stianed red and the photoreceptor nuclei blue. The photoreceptors themselves are not stained but are just visible at the top of the picture. Two blood vessels containing red blood cells are visible in cross section as they pass through the retina.
