J Cinchonic Extractives, Cinchonic Alkaloids l Iron, There is perfect equality among these wines as re- gards their essential con- stituents. They all contain 1.5 per cent, of cinchonic extractives and 0.2 per cent, of alkaloid salts of cinchona. The ferruginous cinchonic wine contains moreover 1 per cent, of ammonio-citrate of iron, equal to 0.2 per cent, of oxyd of iron or, 0.14 per cent, of metallic iron.
