    and the new improvements in Dentistry are in the hands of but a few, and, although these men have an uphill battle to fight, their work is every day coming to be better under¬ stood and will very soon, in more ways than one, be in “everybody’s mouth,” if I may be permitted a joke on a serious subject. The present uphill fight is due to the antagonism of old-fashioned English Dentists, who are content with the old systems laid down by their fathers, and probably their grandfathers. They use every effort to dissuade those of their better-in¬ formed patients, who suggest more modern work, for two very obvious reasons :—-
